Welcome.
My name is Nick, as you probably guessed from the header, and I work as a broadcast television film editor based mostly in London and working either remotely or in house.
I have over 35 years of editing experience and am well respected by my client base which I have built up since I left the BBC in 2012. I also have access to the many contacts and knowledge that a 30 year BBC career gave me.
Although in the past I have been both an online editor and a colourist, these days I prefer to concentrate on offline work. I am as comfortable editing factual entertainment as I am with serious documentary, drama and children's programming.
My work has been broadcast on BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4, Channel5, Sky1, SkyArts, and many other TV channels both in the UK and around the world.
Whilst at the BBC I spent several periods in Post Production management, including a spell with full P&L responsibility for a £10m commercial subsidiary.
I consider it very important to share my skills and knowledge with up and coming practitioners, and so I intersperse my editing with teaching at the National Film and Television School at Beaconsfield, where I am a senior visiting tutor. I have also taught at the Northern Film School in Leeds.
